A significant brooch, the first that I made in this style. Inspired by the chromatic cells of squid and Octopuses. Satisfyingly smooth, the inviting curved form is hand carved and acrylic, inlaid with hundreds of dots of silver and 9ct gold and accentuated with three subtle diamonds. The reverse is highly polished reflecting light outwards which makes this piece glow. The metal embedded in the surface creates a gentle coolness to this piece, the combination of materials is curious.
As interesting from the reverse as from the front, a double stainless steel pin supports this piece.
