A special brooch close to my heart. Layers of oxidised silver elements are individually set into a hand carved base of black acrylic. They are patinated to shimmer with blue and pink hues reminiscent of Starling feathers.
This brooch has an aliveness, a personality of sorts. The surface appears to ruffle its ‘feathers’ although they are static.
A substantial brooch but easy to wear on a variety of fabrics, with a stainless steel double pin at the reverse.
